HUNDREDs ASSEMBLE for Communal Riots in Bangalore
Yesterday, 12th August, P Naveen the nephew of the congress MLA, Akhanda Srinivas Murthy for the district Pulakeshinagar took to Facebook stating derogatory comments against the Islamic community. These comments led to violence breaking out in the constituency along with a public comment by the INC’s political candidate Syed Mujahid- nominated corporator of the district Shivajinagar, who in a Facebook post condemned the actions of P Naveen and also posted a video indicating his desire to join hundreds of protestors in their attempts to bring justice.
In an interview with a source close to the governing body of the city, new information has come to light including mob attacks by over 250 disgruntled citizens leading to the vandalization of two police stations of KG Halli and DJ Halli, and the burning of vehicles outside the MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy’s residence. A statement has been made by the Minister of the Home Department for the state of Karnataka, Basvaraj Bommai who has requested the mob to maintain peace and ordered a probe into this matter. New reports indicate the possible death of an individual along with over 10 injured policemen and journalists.
